LEE JUNG SEOB (1916-1956)
Exhibition design
National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA)This exhibition is about Korea’s famous painter, LEE JUNG SEOB. During the war, he drew on cigarette foils and letters. This exhibition displayed small foil drawings as if they were artifacts displayed in a museum, and the drawings were magnified 100 times and projected on the wide wall. This exhibition enabled the painter to reveal his unusual expression technique and realize his dream of drawing a mural. As for the letter drawings, which embodied his love and longing for his family, plywood, which had been stored for a long time, was used to give a stable and meditative atmosphere to the space and to display the letter drawings on the long table.
