A night full of glamour, joy and the best people in design: The iF DESIGN AWARD NIGHT on 28 April 2025 in the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin was the highlight of this year's award season. An emotional highlight of the evening was the presentation of the second iF Design Lifetime Achievement Award to the renowned British architect and designer Lord Norman Foster.

His work, including iconic buildings such as ‘The Gherkin’ in London, the Millennium Tower in Japan and the glass dome of the Reichstag in Berlin, has had a lasting impact on the world of architecture. With his studio ‘Foster + Partners’, which operates from 16 locations worldwide, and the Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid, Foster is committed to promoting young talent.

The award was presented by iF Design CEO Uwe Cremering; the laudatory speech was given by Prof. Fritz Frenkler.

Celebrate with the international Design Community

At the iF DESIGN AWARD NIGHT, some of the winners come from far away, for example from Australia, Brazil or the USA. Others have a much shorter journey and may even be able to walk from their Berlin office to the Friedrichstadt-Palast. Either way: This one night brings together the best people in design!

For you, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to connect with other creative people from all over the world. Talk about new projects, see how other people work in different countries and get to know the people from your field. In short: Get inspired and inspire others!

"This is the award of awards. If you want to be recognized on a global stage, this is where you have to participate."
