FAQ - iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE

1. How can I register for the iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE?
   You can register online via the my iF section of our website. As a new participant, you must first create a user account. To do this, please select the iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE field on the right-hand side.

2. What are the elements of my application?

   • Section basics: Project name, selection of category (SDG), project start, type of project, year of project start, add some tags.

   • Section description: Statement (= short description of your project with max. 650 characters) in English.

   • Section media:

     • Images: Upload at least 1 main image. Optionally, you can add 2 more images of the project: One image in landscape format and one in portrait format.
       
       File types: JPG, PNG, max. width: 4,750 px, max. file size: 5 MB, color mode: RGB
       
       Naming of the image: Project-ID – name of the project – no. of picture e.g. 1

     • PDF file: Add more details on your project by uploading a PDF file containing a more detailed description, plans or additional images. The PDF file should not be longer than 5 pages and will only be used internally by the jury.

     • Project video: Present your project with an explanatory video. Please make sure it is publicly visible. Please make sure that your video is no longer than 2 minutes. It should summarize the most important information about your project. You can upload a link to YouTube or Vimeo.

     • Web URL: Enter a link to the project website or another representation of the project. It should be publicly visible. Please use domains that are accessible in Germany. The website must be constantly online.

   • Section credits: Please sepcify the name of the organization and the country in which the organization submitting the project is based (not the country in which the project is implemented).

   • Partner organization: It is possible to specify a partner organization with which your organization cooperates for the project in question. This is not mandatory.

3. Do I have to pay any fees?
   No, the iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE is free of charge.

4. Who can apply?
   Companies, design studios, NGOs, foundations, public and other organizations, social enterprises and entrepreneurs are welcome to submit.
   
   Student concepts cannot be accepted. They can be entered in the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD.

5. Can I submit more than one project?
   Yes, you can apply with several different projects. However, it is not permitted to submit the same project to different categories.

6. Are Chinese characters accepted?
   No. Please enter all information and descriptions in English, otherwise we will not be able to process your application.

7. Can I change my entry data after registering?
   Yes, you can edit all data of your entry in your my iF account until the registration deadline.

8. Is there any direct financial support?
   iF Design does not provide any direct financial support. The prize money comes from iF Design and the amount is divided between several projects. We have 2 rounds per year, each endowed with EUR 50,000. So a total of EUR 100,000.

9. When does the registration deadline end?
   The deadline for the first round ends on 03 June 2025 at 23:59 CET.
   The deadline for the second round ends on 01 September 2025 at 23:59 CET.

10. When does the jury panel take place?
    The jury panel for the first round is in July 2025.

    The jury panel for the second round is in October 2025.

11. When will the results be announced?
    For the first round in August 2025.

    For the second round at the end of October 2025.
