Smartphones are a natural part of our lives, but keeping them charged is a stress factor. To solve this, we made charging a natural part of our homes. The new IKEA Wireless Charging collection is the first Qi-enabled furniture aimed at the mass of the people and includes the RIGGAD lamp. A charger and lamp in one, it gives focused lighting while keeping smartphones charged and desks cable-free. To create a technologically advanced product that looks good while still conveying functionality, we conducted extensive global testing and ethnography studies, in-home and in-store. This collection makes charging more accessible, yet a lot less conspicuous.
