Vertical Wilderness

The permanent exhibition “Vertical Wilderness” in the visitor center “Haus der Berge” represents the Berchtesgaden National Park with its four biospheres: water, forest, alp and rock. A gradient visitor routing passes an abstract landscape panorama with scenery-like spatial elements. The visitors experience nature in the change of the four seasons and “hike” from lake Königssee up to a walk-on mountain sculpture, where a fascinating panorama projection summarizes the gathered impressions. The 150 m² large screen opens regularly and reveals a view on the national park.
