CalmTouch - Healing Thermometer
Caring for refugees
CalmTouch - Healing Thermometer is designed for refugees from conflict zones, addressing the fear caused by traditional temperature guns that resemble firearms. The device is designed not to be pointed at the patient's head like a gun but to gently stroke the head. This helps users feel safe and cared for, reducing anxiety and trauma. CalmTouch uniquely combines accurate temperature measurement with emotional support, making it more than just a medical tool. It stands out for its human-centered, compassionate approach in healthcare.
This concept demonstrates that great design must consider a broad range of aspects that extend far beyond mere form and function. In this case, the concept offers protection to those suffering from psychological stress and trauma due to war and political conflicts. Congratulations!
WINNER STATEMENTIt is a great honor to receive the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD. CalmTouch embodies my belief that design should not only solve problems, but also convey warmth and care.
