The iF Design Foundation appoints a new board member
Professor Dr. René Spitz has been a member of the Foundation Board since 1 March 2021
With effect from 1 March 2021, Professor Dr. René Spitz appointed to the board of the iF Design Foundation. René is head of the Media Design course at the Rheinische Fachhochschule (RFH) Cologne, where he is professor of design science, design management and communication management. The main focuses of his research and publications include “The social responsibility of designers”, “Theory and practice of the Ulm School of Design (HfG)”, “Fundamentals of design” and “Designing Design Education. Whitebook on the future of design education”.
The latter publication was published on behalf of the iF Design Foundation. This recently published whitebook documents the findings from five years of scientific research and in-depth, intercontinental exchange with over 250 design experts from 25 countries. It combines numerous ideas for concrete implementation in teaching and studies.
For Christoph Böninger, Chairman of the iF Design Foundation, Professor Spitz’s appointment to the foundation board is a logical step: "We are very pleased to welcome René as the author of the whitebook, another expert on the board."
