Aid relief packaging

Reiko Kitora

Relief supplies are commonly delivered to locations affected by natural disasters. This system of cardboard packaging is designed with a secondary use that is tailored to sites where food is scarce and every resource counts. Biodegradable plastic capsules filled with vegetable seeds are embedded into the boxes so when they are composted, nourishing vegetables can grow out of them. The discarded cardboard is reborn as plants to counteract CO2 emissions, while simultaneously providing food for people who need it.
