Milk Packaging Design with the Mang-Dragon

Milk packaging

Nanjing Weigang Dairy Co., Ltd.

This milk packaging features an image of the Chinese Mang Dragon, based on a piece of historic embroidery in the collection of the Jiangning Weaving Museum in Nanjing. The Mang Dragon illustration is split into two parts, each half printed on the front and back of the milk carton. Pair the back and front of two milk cartons and the entire Mang Dragon displays. The split imagery transforms the packaging into a type of puzzle for the user to solve, which engages them more with the product. Hot bronze printing adds sparkle to the dragon's scales, also making the image look like it was embroidered, just like the museum's Yun brocade of Nanjing.
