The planned site is a new subdivision located on the outskirts of Niigata City. Residents live in many homes with the curtains closed to prevent crime and ensure privacy. Many of the existing houses have exterior walls made of new construction materials, creating a uniform streetscape that has not changed. Using domestic wood and traditional Japanese construction techniques, we designed a modern wooden house that can be incorporated into modern times. A terrace is placed in the center of the house, allowing you to feel nature even when you are indoors. With this house, I wanted to change the uniformity of people's lives and the streetscape.
