Garment-to-Garment (G2G) Recycle System

Garment recycling system

The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel Limited

G2G is a small-scale garment recycling system designed for integration into retail spaces. Housed entirely in a 40-foot container, its compact size, anti-vibration and dust-controlled functions enhance its compatibility in community spaces. G2G requires neither water nor chemicals. The double-glazed wall allows visitors to view the entire recycling process. It is designed to promote sustainable fashion.

iF Gold Statement

This end-to-end recycling system for clothes starts with the sanitizing and shredding of old garments. Just a few square meters of space are needed to house the entire 8-step production line. This ingenious system opens up the prospect of ad-hoc and on-site-recycling systems in a variety of locations. Because the system doesn't require water, this is a sustainable upcycling solution.
